Newbury Racecourse

Newbury Racecourse is one of the UK's most prestigious racing venues staging up to 30 days of top class Jumps and Flat racing annually, with at least one raceday in every month of the year.

The richest race day at Newbury Racecourse is the prestigious Al Shaqab Lockinge Day in May. In the summer they host their ‘Party in the Paddock’ where guests can enjoy a concert after the racing, and in the Autumn Newbury hosts its biggest meeting of the year, the Gold Cup Festival.

The Saturday of Gold Cup Festival features the famous handicap chase (formerly known as the Hennessy Gold Cup) which is one of the toughest tests of the jumps racing calendar, and has been won by some of the sport’s biggest names such as; Arkle, Mill House, Burrough Hill Lad and more recently Denman.
