Today is the day that a lot of football fans have been looking forward to – the release of the 2022/23 Premier League fixtures.
The new Premier League season will kick off on a Friday night with Crystal Palace taking on Arsenal on 5th August.
Championship winners Fulham begin their Premier League season at home to Liverpool in the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday 6th August, while newly promoted Bournemouth host Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest (back in top-flight football for the first time since 1999) travel to Newcastle in the 3pm kick-offs.
For the first time ever, the Premier League season will pause after the weekend of November 12/13 for the winter World Cup in Qatar. The season will then restart on Boxing Day a mere eight days after the World Cup final on 18th December.
There will then be no games scheduled until New Year's Eve but, after playing on the final day of 2022, teams will be back in action on 2nd January to begin the downhill stretch of the season.
The Premier League's final day will be Sunday 28th May. Whether it will have as much drama as the final game of the 2021/22 season remains to be seen!
Other fixtures of note for the new season are;
· Carabao Cup Final – Sunday 26th February
· FA Cup Final – Saturday 3rd June
· Europa League Final – Wednesday 31st May in Budapest
· Europa Conference League Final – Wednesday 7th June in Prague
